SAFAGA, Egypt – The joint military exercise "Piercing Arrow 2024," involving units from the Saudi Armed Forces and the Egyptian military, concluded today in Safaga. The event was attended by Saudi Royal Land Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Fahd bin Saud Al-Juhani and Egypt's Assistant Minister of Defense Maj. Gen. Walid Hamouda Awad. The final drills showcased advanced combat scenarios, including special forces' aerial insertions via attack helicopters, live-fire tactical exercises with armored units, and air and sea operations to secure a simulated border village. These operations featured airstrikes, coastal raids, and surface target engagements.

Participating units from Saudi Arabia spanned land, naval, air, and air-defense domains, working alongside Egyptian forces to enhance collaboration, joint operational readiness, and unified command coordination. The drills were designed to replicate realistic warfare conditions, focusing on counter-terrorism, drone combat, combat search-and-rescue, and close air support. Maj. Gen.
